Karting suits are totally different from racing fire-retardant suits, so they require a particular treatment. Karting suits are made of polyester, a fiber that attracts oil stains in spite of its non-absorbency. Also, karting suits are subject to dirt because of the driver’s exposure to the two-stroke engine emissions.

TOOLS
• Rag
• Water in a spray bottle
• OMP multipurpose degreaser
• Toothbrush

We’re about to perform the pre-wash. It’s a vital task, without which the dirt can’t be blasted during the proper washing in the machine.

First of all, we need to spot each stain and concentration of dirt: splashes of oil, traces of friction against mechanical parts, etc. These stains are going to be treated one by one with Multipurpose Degreaser.

step

It’s always a good rule to start from the less strong stains, in order to preserve the instruments.

2.1

Spray OMP Multiprupose Degreaser by Ma-Fra on each stain. A single spray is enough for a single stain. Allow to react for no more than 30 seconds, then rub with the rag.

In case of heavy dirt, scrub with the toothbrush. In order to avoid pilling, don’t over-press. The motion must be alternately latitudinal and longitudinal.

Now you can wash the suit in a washing machine. In this phase, the patina of dirt will be removed, along with the remains of the stains. The suit must be washed at 30°C, then dried in the shade. Anyway, always follow the prescriptions on the label.
